Honey Completely Rehabbed
by Kim Sweeney on
Days like today remind me of why I love what I do, and that there is always hope.
If you recall, Honey came to us on July 7. I have posted her progress on Facebook over the past couple months. This beautiful mare is now completely rehabbed and came back to the farm on Sunday! I am so excited to show this transformation. This was all done by feeding her Triple Crown Senior Maxi Glow Tifton and alfalfa hay twice a day. I am in awe of how she picked this weight up so quickly and I am saddened that she ever got into the shape that she was to begin with.
So today is a great day, a day that I celebrate rehabilitation - a reminder to me to keep doing what I know I’m called to do. Welcome home, Honey! You will spend the rest of your days in your own retirement pasture with two other sanctuary horses, which hopefully will be a very long time, since you are only 22.
Words cannot express my gratitude to my foster, Bridgette. I am eternally grateful, as I know Honey is. Also, it takes a village.
